You will be required to be available for a four-day window, and should be given a call the day before the actual delivery.

KEEP IN MIND THE DELIVERY SERVICE TRAVELS HUNDREDS OF MILES AND MAKES MANY DELIVERIES. DATES AND TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. YOUR FLEXIBILITY IS BOTH EXPECTED AND APPRECIATED.

Due to the size and/or heavy nature of some furniture pieces, you may be required to provide additional help and/or equipment, at your expense. Normally, this pertains to items over 350 pounds. If you have ordered a large piece of furniture please discuss any concerns with the delivery service when they contact you to schedule your delivery.

Delivery fees will be confirmed with you by the delivery service when you are contacted to schedule your delivery. They are payable at the time of delivery to the delivery service by a cashier's check or money order.

It is IMPERATIVE that you inspect each piece of furniture while the delivery service is still in your home. Any damage needs to be noted on the driver's bill of lading and the item must be REFUSED. Please do not allow the delivery person to persuade you to keep items which you feel should be returned. If your delivery is during our normal business hours, please call us with any questions or concerns. We will be happy to talk with you and/or the delivery team.
Return only the unacceptable items and not any companion pieces.

• If you cannot be there to accept the delivery, please make arrangements to have a responsible person present so that the delivery service may rely upon his or her signature as authorized to inspect and accept delivery. If a scheduled delivery is cancelled, refused, or no one is home to accept the delivery, a re-delivery fee will be charged.

• If your home is not accessible by the delivery service's trucks, they will transport to the nearest accessible point and it will be your responsibility, at your expense, to provide a means of transport to your home.

All deliveries are insured by the in-home delivery service for transit damage. The furniture is warranted by the manufacturer for defects in materials and workmanship. Provided all our delivery policies and procedures are followed, Lexington Furniture Company insures your order for any re-delivery charges, should you require a return delivery due to transit damage or manufacturer defects.

Upon its return to the delivery service, a quality control representative will inspect the damaged furniture and determine whether the item needs to be repaired or replaced.

• Lexington Furniture Company WILL NOT be responsible to assist in the repair or replacement of items unless damages and/or defects are noted on the original bill of lading.

If damage or defects are noticed AFTER the delivery is made, contact your salesperson immediately. Lexington Furniture Company will only support the warranties as set forth by the manufacturer, and you may be required to pay additional shipping charges and/or delivery fees.

General Questions

1. What Happens if I Need To Cancel or Change My Order? Top
Our ability to cancel or change your order will be determined by our ability to change or cancel your order with the manufacturer. Once an order has been entered into production or shipped it is not possible to cancel or make any changes. Your order must be accepted as ordered. If we are able to cancel your order with the manufacturer we will gladly refund your deposit.

Lexington Furniture Company's sales are all special orders - furniture ordered especially for you from the manufacturer. We do not order or deliver furniture 'on approval'.

A copy of your sales invoice will be mailed to you after your order has been placed. It is also your responsibility to be sure you review and check your sales invoice to be sure we have placed your order correctly. If you do not receive your copy within 7-10 days of placing your order or if you have any questions or concerns please contact your sales associate.

Lexington Furniture Company cannot be responsible for errors pertaining to information you may have received from other sources. If there are costs associated to correcting these errors, it will be done at your request and expense.

If for any reason we are unable to cancel or alter an order which you are unable to accept your deposit will be forfeited.

2. When Can I Expect My Order? Top
ALL orders are special ordered from the manufacturer, made specifically for you! Delivery times vary greatly depending on what you order, the manufacturer, and availability. Typical delivery time to you is approximately 10 and 12 weeks. This is only an estimate, NOT a guarantee. When it comes to order times we are at the mercy of the manufacturer and their production and shipping schedules. We cannot be responsible for delays due to production scheduling or availability of frames, fabrics, or leathers.

We receive most acknowledgements from the manufacturer 3 to 4 weeks after your order is placed. Most often, an estimated ship date is given. Should you require information about the status of your order please feel free to call your sales associate 2-3 weeks after you receive the copy of your sales invoice.

3. How Do Your Prices Compare To Everyone Else? Top
Lexington Furniture Company's philosophy about pricing reflects the owner's desire for integrity and honesty in business. A store that for many years has consistently provided a quality showroom and warehouse facility, backed by knowledgeable salespeople and delivery expertise.

We take a fair and reasonable mark-up from the actual wholesale cost from the factory. Our prices typically reflect a saving of 40% to 60% off the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

At times our prices may go even lower, as some manufacturers offer us special discount periods throughout the year which we always pass on to our customers.

While pricing and discounts vary from store to store, we're confident our prices represent one of the best values in the industry.

4. Does Lexington Furniture Company charge sales tax? Top
Lexington Furniture Company collects sales tax on all items delivered or picked-up in the state of KY. Presently, KY state sales tax is 6%.

Other states may be subject to a "use tax" on the use of property within a particular jurisdiction. Currently, some states are taking an active approach to collecting use tax. It is quite possible you might receive a use tax bill in the mail from your state revenue department. We encourage our customers to consult their state and local tax laws in order to determine their amount of liability, if any.

5. Do you have Catalogs or Samples available? Top
  Catalogs
Most manufacturers have websites that include their online catalogs available for you to browse. You may order catalogs directly from many of the manufacturers at a charge via their website or by telephone.

Fabric/Leather Samples
All of the upholstery lines we carry offer a wide range of fabric selections. Memo or small samples of fabrics and leathers can be ordered from the manufacturer and sent to you via U.S. Mail. You can make a request to your sales associate. Generally, these samples are available at no charge. If you are unable to make a selection from the resources in your area, most manufacturers also accept customer's own material (COM). This allows you to purchase fabric from another source and send it to us to forward to the manufacturer to apply to your order. Please request specific information from us to calculate yardage requirements.

6. What is your service policy? Top
Lexington Furniture Company has established policies and procedures, which you agreed to at the time your order was placed.

Many times the materials used in the production of furniture are natural and contain certain inherent characteristics that may appear to be a flaw, but in reality are acceptable. When the delivery service asks you to sign off that your product is in good condition, you must inspect it very carefully. If you discover a problem with your product during inspection, refuse the item and note the problem on the Bill of Lading.

*A signed Bill of Lading that states every thing is satisfactory may limit your ability to receive service.

A qualified craftsman can usually correct cosmetic or minor problems. Remember that furniture is both man-made and hand-made out of natural products. It is possible that a repaired item can be as good, if not better than a replacement.

We pride ourselves in our commitment to service that every sales associate provides to each client. Our integrity is very important to us and we feel it is our obligation to be sure our customers are aware of and understand the process of purchasing furniture.

7. Does my furniture have a warranty? Top
Lexington Furniture Company warrants that all merchandise will be shipped in a condition that meets standards set by the furniture manufacturer. All of our products come with a full manufacturer's warranty, which vary in length from one year to "limited lifetime". We will repair or replace, at our option, any defective merchandise or any merchandise damaged in transit at no charge.

Specifics on warranty services will vary depending on the manufacturer. Most warranties will generally be attached in the form of a hang tag when you receive your new furniture.

Warranties apply only to the original purchaser upon proof of purchase. Defects caused by abuse or negligence are not covered. We do not warrant the wearing ability, colorfastness, stretching or shrinking of furniture coverings. Colors may vary somewhat due to dye lot variations and therefore we cannot assume responsibility for shade variations between sample swatches and the final product. Color and grain variations in wood and leather are nature's own and enhance the value of your furniture. Additionally, the inherent characteristics of fine woods affect how they absorb stain. As a result, Lexington Furniture Company cannot ensure the matching of related pieces or various surface stains on the same item. Fossil stone, marble, and granite are natural products. Inconsistencies in color and grain should be expected and appreciated. These characteristics are within industry standards are acceptable.

8. What is your policy concerning Customer's Own Material(COM)? Top
All of the upholstery lines we carry offer a wide range of fabric selections. If you are unable to make a selection from the resources in your area, most manufacturers also accept customer's own material (COM). This allows you to purchase fabric from another source and send it to us to forward to the manufacturer to apply to your order. Please request specific information from your sales associate to calculate yardage requirements.

If you would like leftover COM fabric returned with your purchase, you must state on your order RETURN ALL SCRAPS. We will add the instructions to our purchase order.

If you have purchased your fabric at a discount outlet we recommend that you inspect the fabric thoroughly. Many times there are defects, which can be difficult to detect. Cotton prints are sometimes not squarely printed across the width of the fabric. Be sure the fabric you have selected is dimensionally stable for the selected application.

Lexington Furniture Company accepts no responsibility for defects/or flaws in COM fabric.
