Classic Leather began in 1966 doing exactly what it still does today, manufacturing beautiful leather furniture.  Quality and attention to detail have led this company to success and that tradition continues.

Classic Leather like any fine upholstery starts with the frame.  Classic Leather makes each frame in their own facility.  Each frame in the Classic Leather collection is cut to standard using only selected hardwood (oak, ash, poplar, or maple) and the frames are all assembled by hand in the onsite facility.  Joints are all doweled, glued, and screwed into place to ensure a strong and long lasting frame.

Seats are all sprung using eight way hand tied coil springs.  Steel bands are placed in the bottom of the frame and double cone coil springs are placed directly on top of the bands.  The top of the spring is tied by hand in eight different positions to ensure that the springs stay in place.  This is long been the standard in fine upholstered furniture and Classic Leather is proud to still be using this time honored technique.

Classic Leather’s tailoring is second to none.  Each of the leathers are marked by hand to ensure beauty of the hide.  The leather is then cut by hand and carefully sewn.  Classic Leather uses only top grain leather for its furniture.

After the hides are cut and sewn, they are carefully upholstered to the frames by skilled craftspeople using time-honored techniques to ensure beauty and durability of the leather cover for many years to come.  After the piece is upholstered, brass nails are then hammered into the piece by hand (if ordered) to finish off the furniture of your choice.

Classic Leather also offers a collection aimed at the value minded shopper.  Madison by Classic Leather is offered at a better price point than most leather furniture on the market.  The frame is constructed of 9-ply wood, and each of the pieces are cut to exceed industry standards for strength.  Seat springs on the Madison Collection are drop in coil units, which provide similar support to the eight way hand tied coils, at a fraction of the cost.
